Hailing from Provo, Utah, Michael Barrow & the Tourists is an indie rock quintet that blends folk, rock, and blue-eyed soul. The band is composed of Michael Barrow (lead vocals, guitar), Zach Collier (keys), Mac Wright (lead guitar), Alessandro Improta (bass), and Reed Perkins (drums).
The band is back with their dusty, folk rock sound. Fans of early James Bay and The Killers’ Sam’s Town era will find a lot to love in their new single “Over It.” It’s the lead single from their third studio album, “HAPPY” – due out in 2025. They’ve opened for artists like Ben Rector, The National Parks, Dylan Dunlap, and Sub Radio.
2023 was a huge year for the band. Although intended to be a year away from music after a national tour in 2022, they were asked to compose the theme song for Season 4 of the popular WEBTOON Original, The Kiss Bet. The result was “I See Stars,” an epic, romantic, and incredibly schmaltzy duet between Michael Barrow and indie pop artist and YouTube sensation ysabelle. Backed by a full orchestra, the song quickly surpassed a million streams online and was particularly successful on YouTube.
